Our Awards Streak Continues

By Editor, April 21st, 2010

We’ve had two great bits of news on the awards front this week.

Our Kindle print campaign is a 2010 One Show Merit Award winner. This campaign continued the magazine story after the jump onto the Kindle e-reader in the adjacent ad. The ceremony takes place on April 13 in New York City during Creative Week.

If that wasn’t exciting enough, our Effie Award streak continues. We’ve been notified that our “The Original Social Networking Site” campaign for The Coleman Company will be an Effie Award winner this year. Of course, to find out exactly which award it won, we’ll have to attend the June 8 gala in New York City.

Congratulations to our teams and clients who worked on these campaigns.

Amazon: Kindle

Doner faced a unique challenge in launching the Amazon Kindle. We had to get consumers excited about a product from a relatively new and unfamiliar category, the e-reader. Speaking to heavy readers and travelers, the group we identified as the e-reader early adopters, we created a campaign to educate our audience about the functional benefits of Kindle. But we placed the ads where they live and read – cabs, trains, even a franchise position within the New York Times book review section. So in the end we didn’t just educate our core consumer, we did it in a way that was relevant and meaningful for the way they live.
