By Editor, April 19th, 2010

We’re excited to share that we’ve been invited to do something very special, very rare: a retrospective in the gallery of The One Club for Art & Copy celebrating 70 years of changing the destiny of brands through creativity. For those in the advertising creative community, the One Club is one the most revered advertising societies in the world. Its Creative Hall of Fame is filled with the greatest names in the business from David Ogilvy to Lee Clow. The One Club only hosts retrospective shows every couple of years. And only with those whose work it deems as the best in the industry. We are thrilled to accept this special opportunity. You can read more here: Doner Retrospective at The One Club

Time for a Pantry Raid

The food has already started rolling in so it’s looking like the competition is on as we start our 2nd annual Doner Drive (our weeklong food drive). During a time when local food banks are struggling to keep ample amounts of food stocked as they see the largest hunger crisis in their history, everyone here at Doner is coming together to try and help the cause. To make it interesting we’ve thrown in a friendly competition between our Cleveland, Detroit and Newport Beach offices to see which office can bring in the most food. Hats off to Newport Beach who kicked butt last year!

According to a study conducted in November 2009 by the Economic Research Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture, more than 49 million people, including 16.7 million children, live in households that experience hunger or the risk of hunger. This represents more than one in seven households in the United States. The food brought in for the Doner Drive will help support a selected food bank located near each office. The organizations include, Hunger Network of Greater Cleveland, Gleaners Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan and Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County

Can we beat last year’s total of 6,525 lbs of food collected? That’s what we’re hoping for! Stay tuned to find out where our totals end up and to see which office has what it takes to collect the most food.

One Day to Go!

With our Lesley Schofield in 1st and Deidre O’Reilly in 2nd in our March Adness bracket competition Cinderella Butler keeps on dancing, but the Dukies are focused on another National Championship. Seth Trizenberg could jump up from 6th to 1st if Duke wins tonight and Larry Kempa in 20th could finish in 2nd. There are still lots of developments to take place.
